Compatible XPR systems

These consumables and torch components are compatible with all current Hypertherm XPR plasma cutting systems running on Plazmax tables and on third-party tables built by other manufacturers.

  • XPR170 - 170 amp X-Definition system. Uses consumable rows up to 170A.
  • XPR300 - 300 amp X-Definition system. Uses consumable rows up to 300A.
  • XPR460 - 460 amp X-Definition system. Uses all consumable rows including the 460A row.

Looking for the system itself rather than parts? See our XPR system pages for full specifications, cut speeds and pierce capacity by material.

Getting the most out of XPR consumables

Match the consumable stack to the process

Every part in an XPR consumable stack is process-specific. The 130A nozzle for mild steel O2/Air is a different part from the 130A nozzle for stainless N2/N2 or stainless H2-Ar-N2/N2. The shield, swirl ring and electrode also change. Check the table row that matches the amperage AND the gas process you’re running before ordering. Mismatching one part in a stack will produce poor cut quality and accelerate wear on the rest of the stack.

Track cuts per stack

Consumable life varies significantly by amperage, material and process. Track pierces and cut metres per stack from day one. The data tells you when to schedule a planned change before edge quality drops, rather than chasing rejects after the fact. The XPR consumable tool (part 10080574) and electrode torque tool (part 429013) make stack changes faster and more consistent.

Pierce vs cut amperage

On plasma, pierce capacity is lower than cut capacity at any given amperage - piercing solid plate is the hardest demand you place on the torch, so a stack that pierces a given thickness will edge-cut thicker still. When you select an amperage, match it to the material you cut most, not the occasional heaviest pierce. Sizing a stack around maximum pierce thickness burns consumables faster than necessary.

Stock the starter kits

Hypertherm sell dedicated consumables starter kits across the XPR170, XPR300 and XPR460 systems, in mild steel and non-ferrous variants, with torch-included and torch-excluded options. For shops running predictable work, a starter kit covers the common amperages in a single order. Worth holding alongside individual parts for the less common processes. Ask us for the right kit for your system and material.

FAQs

End users cannot buy consumables or parts directly from Hypertherm, only through authorised channel partners and OEMs. Plazmax is an Authorised Hypertherm OEM Channel Partner, so ordering through us is buying genuine Hypertherm parts at the source, with NZ-based stock and overnight courier delivery.
Stock items ship overnight by express courier from Plazmax NZ. Orders placed before mid-afternoon on a working day are typically with you the following morning anywhere in New Zealand.
Yes. XPR consumables are matched to the Hypertherm XPR power source, not to the table the power source is mounted on. If the system is running an XPR170, XPR300 or XPR460, the parts on this page are correct regardless of who built the table or which integrator commissioned it
Hypertherm publish multiple process options for stainless steel and aluminium cutting on XPR. Each process (N2/N2, F5/N2, N2/H2O, H2-Ar-N2/N2, Air/Air) targets different priorities around cut quality, edge condition, gas cost and consumable life. The right process for your shop depends on what you're cutting, your downstream finishing requirements, and your gas supply. The XPR plasma instruction manual (part 811530) covers the trade-offs in detail.
Yes. We hold consumables for HPR, MaxPro200, HyPro2000, DuraMax and the full PowerMax range. See the Consumables and Parts page for the full system list.
Yes. Our NZ-based technical team services any Hypertherm-powered plasma cutting system in New Zealand regardless of who manufactured the table. Service, calibration, troubleshooting and parts under one supplier. See our Service and Support page for what's covered.
